[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]ALL THOSE LAVA FLOWS OF MONEY FOR POLITICAL ACTION…
( to give our economy CPR every four years)
We probably have the most productive economic machinery in the world. Unfortunately, it has a bad pattern of boom or bust cycles, and, since the value of what it produces seems to become less and less in the market place, especially the global one, it needs a periodic “booster shot” to keep it cranking along at a level sufficient to keep us all going on beer and pizza.
So our quadrennial exercise in all out political warfare (without bloodshed) is what creates all those lava flows of money for political action to give our economy CPR every four years…and just in time too.
It’s a hell of a way to run a railroad, much less a “super power”, but, what the hell, that’s our American way of it.
Well, those who complain about how the presence of all that money is corrupting our democratic process just don’t understand the complexities of our socio-economic system. To help correct that deficiency in their understanding of it, here’s another reprint from our archives to help clarify things for them.

(…from playing political whoopee)
Our thundering herd of presidential hopefuls are off and running in their respective parties’ primary steeplechases, hoping to become their conventions’ candidates of choice for the Presidency next November.
Iowa and New Hampshire kicked things off, with winners of one becoming the loosers in the other, and vice versa, guaranteeing long wide open political races right into their respective conventions. Races that will have as many thrills, chills and spills, as might be had at Ascot. All of which should wet our appetites for more of the same for the remainder of the primary period of election cycle; and, perhaps, generate a larger than usual turnout of folks next November…to actually vote.
But what result do we really want from all this chaotic process and political whoopee playing? Most of us was to see a candidate for the Oval Office who is:
- A pragmatic problem solver…not and ideologue.
- Someone who aims to restore and rebuild our founding ideal of – E Plouribus Unum – not promoting the false and divisive notions of – diversity- and – multiculturism –
- A leader more focused on what’s best for the country as a whole…not what might please or displease particular elements of it.
- For a strong military defense posture…but not one ready to volunteer it to be the world’s police force.
- A leader who will promote being and “American” first…and something else…second.
- A motivator to guide us toward a society rewarding merit…not collective mediocrity.
If these are the key criteria for making the best choice to be our next President, then the question each of us must ask ourselves is: Which of all these candidates meets most of these criteria…and vote accordingly. Even so, we should be careful. Our politicians are much like guys who will wine, dine, and sweet-talk a girl…just to get into her pants. With us, they just want to get into and pick…our pockets. So let us be wary, and very, very particular, because if we don’t and just continue to blindly play political whoopee, we might end up being… screwed.
