AMERICA IS SUFFERING FROM TOO MUCH CTVS
(….namely Carping Tunnel-Vision Syndrome)

Most of what ails America today is because it’s suffering from too much CTVS, namely, Carping Tunnel-Vision Syndrome.
No matter what the issues might be, or what the problems are, whatever solutions are proposed for any of these, they are always jumped on by a swarm of carping, tunnel-visioned, naysayers. Gee wiz…what you’re proposing just isn’t “fair” enough! Gee wiz….you haven’t given a thought to how that will impact purple people-eaters from Mars! Gee wiz….what about barn owls handicapped with cataracts!

And so on….ad infinitum.

Is it any wonder America is in the mess it is today? What may be for the common good, rather than benefitting some single-issue interest, seems to be the order of the day. We’ve become a nation of sheep-brained me-firsters all demanding a free hand out from the common money trough, convinced they’re born entitled to it.

We must exempt one fractional element of our society about such a characterization…. our youths….who volunteer to serve our country for its common good, despite the economic burdens and hardships doing so imposes upon them and their families. Yet, they serve, not just bravely, but with forbearance, and honor….while others carp away about nothing of much consequence.

It’s a sad commentary on our nation today. While Protestors-R-Us are out there wailing and moaning about everything under the sun, in other parts of the world, people have taken action….by rising up and throwing out the bums who’ve been picking their pockets and oppressing them….for decades.

Yet, none of our over-educated nimrods back here seem to have a clue that ours is probably the only country in the world where the people don’t need to take up arms, don’t need to riot in the streets, to get things changed….because, the founders of our great republic gave us a legacy which allows us to do so by the ballot….not the bullet. It’s called – The Constitution!

So whatever our problems might be, whatever anyone proposes to correct or fix them, instead of carping about the merits of such proposals let’s just consider them on the basis of:

a) Do such proposals abide the provisions of the Constitution? And if not, how not?
b) Can such proposals do the most good for the greatest number, even if not for all?
c) Lastly, what are the odds that such proposals might actually work?

At least we might then be doing something, even if it’s wrong….and moving forward instead of standing still, crying in our beers.
