THANKSGIVING
(…. even with so much less of it to go around)

Okay, America, and listen up, it’s that time of year again, when turkeys run for cover but can’t hide from our annual …Pig-Out Fest.

It’s Thanksgiving….even with so much less of it to go around, what with the economy in tatters, too many folks not gainfully employed, and the country parked on top of a manure pile of debt, while our dysfunctional career politicos keep on keeping on with their smoke and mirrors trying to “bribe us with our own money.”

Yeah, it’s not a very encouraging condition, and there are still too many of our military brothers and sisters stuck out there in various wildernesses, trying to help a bunch of people who not only aren’t keen on helping themselves, but would much prefer we Americans would just go home, so they can get on with their favorite sport of killing each other. Our presence among them is just in the way.

Even so….we’ve still got what most of the rest of the world doesn’t have….freedom to be what we might want to be, to occupy and raise hell on public property if we don’t like something or someone’s way of doing things. But most of all the structure of this grand republic of ours is still standing tall, maybe a bit ragged and weather beaten, and with bits of dry-rot here and there….but none of that anything that isn’t fixable, or for which we can’t figure out how to make better.

We’re Americans….that’s what we do!

So, no matter how bad things might look right now, let’s be thankful….that we are who we are and have what we have. Compared to a lot of others….we’re in….Margaritaville!
