DON’T LOOK AT ME…I’M JUST THE PRESIDENT
(besides…look what I have to deal with…a Congress that’s worse than trying to herd cats!)

At the recent news conference held by the President, things didn’t  proceed exactly with the usual softball Q&A quadrille exchanges those conferences normally display.

There was an edge this time to some of the medianiks’ questions, especially about the ongoing budget impasse, the failed gun-control bill in the Senate, the pace of the immigration reform efforts in Congress and, of course, the latest reports with the Boston bombing investigation, and, the supposed “crossed line” of chemical weapons use in Syria.

For his part, the President’ overall demeanor as he responded to these questions clearly showed a sense of extreme frustration and disgust about it all, at one point bluntly suggesting as an excuse, what amounted to his saying: …Don’t look at me…I’m just the President…besides…look what I have to deal with…a Congress that’s worse than trying to herd cats!

Welcome to our taxpayers’ world, Mr. President! If you feel frustrated…imagine how the rest of us  feel about it all!

Now maybe it’s time to really double down to try and figure out who’re the real skunks in your DC woodpile, and where they’re hanging out. From our perspective, Mr. President:

a)The Republicans…are still stuck in campaign mode focused on obstructing anything      proposed from the other side of the aisle, regardless of the country’s best interests.

b)The Democrats, for their part, are still hell bent on jabbing political sticks into the Republicans’ eyes, any which way they can…just to have an edge in the next election cycle, regardless of the country’s best interests.

c) You, yourself, Mr. President, keep playing the class warfare card for all its worth…while nagging the other two about their lack of decorum and purpose…regardless of the country’s best interests.

d) Lastly, of course, are those hordes of lobbyists and medianiks all scurrying around in that woodpile of cross-purposes, either for a favorable bit of legislation in their interest, or, as a possible hot scoop for a Pullitzer (none of that relating to the country’s best interests).

Oh, yes, we almost forgot…then there’s us…the taxpaying voters who keep electing and re-electing all you career politicos to office…over, and over, and over again. When will we ever learn that …political ideology must never be allowed to over ride common sense, if we want to be assured of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness? Well, democracy does allow us to vote dumb as well as smart. We Americans prove it…every time we vote!
