MISS AMERICA
(…a ravishing – unum- from a –puribus- of lovelies…)
Like many other beauty pageants the Miss America Pageant has been around for a long time, and, for most of that time, mainly as a display of pale-vanilla female pulchritude.
Fortunately, in recent times, it has come to realize that when it’s a question of beauty… neither color nor origin have any relevance. Beauty…is beauty…and there is a very, very wide assortment of it. Vanessa Williams was one such glorious example of that, as is our newly crowned Nina Davuluri. Nor should we overlook those examples of it found in that other one, the Miss Universe Pageant, where beauties from around the world have, over and over again, proven it in full measure(apparently Twitterites have never heard of that Thai divine lovely named –Apasara -, but then, since that was way before their time, it’s no wonder they haven’t).
Well, the social media world has, once again, shown that it is a world of mindless bullying, and useless chatter, blind to such ideals; but more than that because, in this instance, it is also displaying its appalling ignorance… thereby confirming our view that the world of Twitter is mostly inhabited by, and for, Twits. Even worse, it clearly shows how dismally dumbed-down our American level of education has become.
