WITH A BIG BRASS BRAND OF DEMOGOGUERY….
(…a guy named Donald is playing the same kind of tune once played by a guy named…Adolph)
The Trump phenomenon keeps rolling along, suggesting a lot of potential voters are so pissed off about anything and everything, they’re ready to take a walk on the wild side next November.
This situation is more than just about a particular segment of the electorate venting its frustrations. It’s a reflection of the general rip-tide of discontent flowing through its entirety, all because of eight years of no real improvement in our economic condition after the financial disasters of 2008. A lack of progress perceived by many as being entirely caused by a collective of career politicos who, in all that time, have just engaged in extreme partisan obstructionism rather than doing what needs doing in the best interests of the country.
It’s no wonder then that the appeal for the electorate of such a siren song by an egocentric billionaire, whose brash, ass-kicking-take-no-prisoners style of campaigning…proclaiming he can and will do all that hasn’t been done by those career politicos…is difficult to resist… and by playing on all its discontents and fears, he thinks that will stampede folks to carry him right into the Oval Office.
So what we have here is a situation where, with a big brass brand of demagoguery, a guy named Donald is playing the same kind of tune once played by a guy names…Adolph…and we all know the outcome that resulted from that.
