THE SHMUCKPUBLICANS’ CANDIDATE OFFERINGS
(….just won’t turn anyone on in 2012)

The Republican Party is in disarray, and at the rate it’s going through its primary process to eventually choose a candidate, it doesn’t look like it will come up with anything worth considering next November.

Its candidate offerings aren’t very inspiring. They would be hard put to garner a runner-up ribbon at a Kennel Club show.

Meanwhile, the Obama campaign, much like termites, is quietly infiltrating into every possible voting district to undermine whatever Republican structure may still be standing in them. Thus the odds are that the Democrats will win….by default….rather than anything else.

Which leaves any really independent voters with no viable alternative to what we have now, and that’s just as depressing as watching the Republicans thrash and trash each other.

As an independent voter (with somewhat libertarian inclinations) I’m not interested in how one candidate claims to be a better choice because of something another one did or did not do in the past. All I want to hear from anyone running for the Presidency is ….what’s their understanding of our situation today, what they believe is the right approach to either change or fix it, and how they plan to go about doing that. Everything else is just irrelevant crap and idle chatter….and….if we voters are dumb enough to pay any attention to what all those SuperPacs are going to spend on their TV attack ads….we’ll deserve everything we won’t get! As I’ve mentioned before, democracy lets you vote dumb, as well as smart….and we prove it every time we vote.

So, maybe all right thinking independent voters should consider getting out there to find that viable alternative to what these two parties of ours are offering us in November. That is, to find and draft a hybrid combination of a Jewish mother, a Chinese wife, and an Aunt Jemima (with a rolling pin). A strong female leader who would know how and when to dole us out some chicken noodle soup to sooth our souls and calm our cry-baby sensibilities… and…. when to give us a smart smack across the chops to jolt us all back onto the track of righteous thinking and common sense action. Now that would be a candidate for President worth going for.

Well, since that is not likely to happen at this late date, we’ll end up remembering these elections as the time when the Shmuckpublicans’ candidate offering….just couldn’t turn anyone on.
