TWITTER, TWITTER, OLYMPIC STAR
(mind your tweeting….or you’ll be watching those Games from afar)

The Games have barely gotten under way and already some participating athletes have been suspended. Some for doping, and, a Greek Olympic star for her “inappropriate” comments expressed via social media.

It seems she “tweeted” what was supposed to be a satirical comment about the modern Greek reality. That is, because of the large numbers of North African migrants there, the West Nile mosquito wouldn’t have to travel so far for some home feeding….or some such.

Faulty in judgment and poor of taste, her “tweet” has crippled her chances of ever achieving Olympic glory. Such are the perils of the social media world, and she’s just the latest in a long line of personalities to discover how perilous that social media world can be. A line which includes media moguls, ex-senators and other assorted politicians, along with celebrities of one kind or another, as well as ordinary folks, all, encountering the same potential for negative consequences due to careless and unguarded use of that technology.

By now any idiot should know and understand that there is no such thing as “privacy” on or with anything related to the Internet. No matter what application is involved and no matter how many bibles any ISP or other organizations might swear upon, the reality is that            –privacy- just does not exist when using that technology. Unlike Vegas, nothing said on it stays on it. It almost instantaneously spreads out all over the globe in minutes, if not seconds, and more often than not it will zoom right back to bite you in the….derriere.

So, to all those addicted to that social media world out there, keep all that in mind when you’re thumbing and fingering those midget keypads of yours, and also, always remember this:

TWITTER….IS FOR….TWITS!
