THE CHOICES WE FACE IN NOVEMBER
(with Obama…it’s –Forward!-…kinda; while with Romney it’s –Sideways!-…sorta)

The current campaign season to determine whom we will elect as president next November is in full swing, and is about as interesting as watching…grass grow (the kind that cows munch on…not the other kind).

At the moment it seems to be stuck in neutral, as far as we voters are concerned…a fifty-fifty proposition…with neither party offering much to get excited about. The choices we face in November simply boil down to deciding whether to stick with the devil we know, or, take a chance with one we don’t. To be blunt about it, with Obama it’s –Forward!-…kinda. With Romney it’s –Sideways!-…sorta.

I don’t know about anyone else out there in voter land, but as far as this independent taxpaying one is concerned that’s just not good enough…and leaves me absolutely indifferent to anything either side is yammering about to get elected. Neither one is really playing it straight with us. I don’t want to hear about what one has or has not accomplished, or, about how the other one did or did not do something right before.

Our country is in a bad fix so what I want to hear is:

-“Here’s what I see about our country’s situation.” –“This is what I believe is the best approach to fix it.” –“Here’s how I plan to do that.” –“These are some of the ways and means I’d apply to go about it.”

Now if both of these candidates would get off their negative campaign manuring machines, and did that instead, we voters would then have a better way of doing some serious comparison grading before casting our votes.

Alas, that’s not about to happen because that’s not the way our American politics game is played today. Everything is carefully scripted for the candidates by their professional campaign consultants and managers. Pros who view us, the electorate, as having to be manipulated with contrived hot-button emotional issues because they believe that we’re all sheep-brained idiots who will blindly swallow that kind of stuff. For these “pros” democracy allows folks to vote dumb, as well as smart, and we Americans prove it at each election…. every time we vote! So for all practical purposes these candidates running for that presidential office are nothing more than ventriloquists’ shills, mouthing whatever the script tells them to.

And for this exercise, the Obama mob is playing the class warfare card for all it’s worth, based on that contemptuous view about we voters…”soak the rich ‘cause they’re not payin’ their fair share!” The Romney camp, for its part, is playing the same card, but in reverse… ”welfare statism is the skunk in our national woodpile, if we can get rid of it everything will be okay!”

About the only good thing that can be said about this cockamaimee political process of ours is that every four years America re-invents itself, spending billions and billions while doing so, thereby giving its economy a great booster shot in the butt, and minimizing the need for the Federal government to spend any of its own funds to do that. So we shouldn’t complain or feel bad about how all those PACs and SUPER-PACs billions are corrupting up the system. Their billions are much like….manure….these have to be spread around to make things grow. And as we can all see…those guys are doing a bang up job of….manuring!

Well, comes November, just to show my appreciation for doing so much to help our country in its time of need, when it comes time to voteI think I’ll just pick someone else from outside their own particular political playpens, just to remind them that, unlike sheep…. goats(especially old ones)….aren’t easily “herded”.

That should do it!
