MAKE THE CONGRESS …GO AWAY…
(…get it off of our taxpaying shoulders…)

As pointed out before, the last Congress at the end of December, 2012, simply kicked the – Fiscal Cliff – can down the road, thus avoiding any political heat that might have come its way if it had actually faced up to the problem. Now, several months later, here we are again with the same – Fiscal Cliff- situation staring this Congress…hard in the face… with no signs of any kind of “leadership” to resolve the issue either from the President or from this Congress.

Instead, they all continue to muddle the issue with misrepresentations and sophistries that would gag even a Jesuit, leaving us re-writing sad new lyrics…Make The Congress Go Away…Get It Off Of Our Taxpaying Shoulders…for an old Eddy Arnold country hit from long ago (Make The World Go Away). Thus, the only evidence of bi-partisanship in Washington these days appears to be a collective exercise of intellectual and moral dishonesty when facing these issues of taxes, revenues, budgets, deficits, and national debt.

All of which leaves us with a serious load of – uncertainties – and these, in turn, are what are stifling our economic recovery…with an anemic 2-3% GDP annual growth rate for the foreseeable future… with static income expectations…and lower revenues all around for local, state, and federal applications.

We, the taxpaying voters, however, are the biggest failures in this situation because we…have done little or nothing to put pressure on these career politicos to do what needs doing do fix it. So perhaps it’s time we launched our own “American Spring” by flooding every means of communications telling every member of both chambers of our Congress, in no uncertain terms, to: KNOCK OFF YOUR POLITICAL BS GAMES…TAKE YOUR THUMBS OUT FROM WHERE THE SUN DON’T SHINE..AND FIX THINGS… NOW!  – bugging them all day and night with a tsunami of phone calls, ordinary mail, emails, facebook, twitter, etc., to let them know the electorate is ready to surround their posh offices on Capitol Hill, like angry villagers with pitchforks and torches, if they don’t do what they were elected to do, and, reminding them all that mid-term elections are not so far away.

As for the President, the odds of his doing anything useful to help us in this instance are very slim. After all, he got himself re-elected to a second term, and no matter how things work out for the rest of us…he’s set for life…at our expense.

Ain’t American democracy grand!
