Vol.VI – Issue No. 24 – Mar 2011
KEEPING THEIR EYES ON THE 2012 ELECTION SPARROW
(instead of taking care of the people’s business)
Our – honorables – in Congress are still squabbling over how to make a budget deal for FY 2011-2012. Neither the Democrats nor the Republicans are doing right by us, the taxpaying voters, because they’re all keeping their eyes on the 2012 election sparrow…. instead of taking care of the people’s business.
Nothing any of them do or say right now is for any purpose other than maneuvering themselves into the best and most advantageous political position for getting re-elected at that time.
If we taxpaying voters had any smarts at all, we’d be flooding voter registration offices all over the country, to dump both these parties, and re-register as fully un-affiliated or “independent” voters instead. If enough of us were to do that between now and then, you can bet your buns that would get their attention, and maybe….just maybe….they would start doing what we want them to do to get our financial affairs in order again.
A massive switch away from both these parties would be similar to what old-time Missouri mule skinners did when encountering a stubbornly obdurate mule not performing its task as expected. You see, those old Missouri skinners understood that this was essentially just a problem of communication, but before they could communicate with such a mule, they had to get its attention. And the Missouri way of getting a mule’s attention was to simply grab a two by four cudgel and give it a good whack….right between its ears; then, when the critter turned around to see why it was being treated like that, the skinner could then communicate the needs for the task at hand ….and the mule would do what it was supposed to do to get it done.
That’s our situation today, folks. So let’s all pick up one of those two by fours and get out there and re-register tomorrow.
