WAITING FOR SPRING TO BE….SPRUNG
(…is the dullest time of year)

Now that the hardest part of winter has passed, in most parts of the country, this is when everything seems to be in – stasis- which is Greek for being….nowhere. That is, when waiting for spring to be sprung….is the dullest time of year, because the world is still going to hell in a basket, just like it’s been doing….forever. Or so it seems.

In Syria, for example, the Assad mob continues to slaughter its own people with absolute abandon and gusto, while the UN eunuchs continue with their chanting about a cease fire, as the stalwarts of the Arab League sit around shaking their beards in irate impotence about the situation there.

Elsewhere, they’re rioting in Spain over labor reforms, the Indonesians are in their streets hollering about higher gasoline prices, the Hungarians are balking like Missouri mules about Euro attempts to impose fiscal check reins on them, as the Irish….continue just being…Irish, and la belle France lost some of its cachet.

Here in America, everyone is holding their breaths waiting to see when the Supremes will publish their decision about Obama Care sometime in late June, a shrewdly calculated delay so as not pour gasoline on an already highly inflamed presidential campaign season (we may be the only country in the world to have all out political warfare without bloodshed…but why take a chance?)

As for other parts of the world, they’re still starving in Africa, India and Pakistan are still at odds, neither really knowing why, and the Argentines are growling at England about the Falklands again ( apparently something to do about oil). China, is facing internal party conflicts about whether or not to further shift from wearing red underwear beneath their fancy capitalist custom suits.

Like they say….it’s same oh, same oh, and enough to give folks the blahs..But actually it just means that planet Earth and its inhabitants are much more resilient than evferyone thinks, and why….we came up with ….APRIL FOOLS DAY!
