So far we’re not very impressed with the lineup of picks for incoming team Trump. It’s a mixed-bag of talent which may or may not give us what we want…or need.

While there is a sprinkling of real pros in that lineup who may not only understand what proper governance is all about, and have the broad perspectives to try to work for the benefit of all of us tax-paying voters rather than for any particular interests, all of that is offset by those other players being chosen.

The most disturbing aspect of those other players, which makes us very leery of these, is that they have so many Goldman-Sachs links. Such talents coming from the same Goldman-Sachs pool that was part of the thundering financial herd that brought about the 2008 debacle is tantamount to using a thief…to catch a thief. The aroma of 2008 still clings to them. It just doesn’t create much confidence in us that we won’t all, once again, become the pigeons for an even slicker form of the confidence game.

Well, let’s hope we’re wrong about this; but meanwhile, let’s all make sure we have a really secure and tight grip on our collective wallets. The bureaucrats we’ve come to hate may soon be replaced…by kleptocrats none of us could ever love.
